San Diego Courts

Being arrested for a DUI in San Diego County means that eventually you will have to appear in court. In San Diego County DUI Court cases are usually heard in 1 of 4 Superior Court locations which are:

Central:
220 West Broadway
San Diego, CA 92101

El Cajon:
250 East Main Street
El Cajon, CA 92020

Vista:
325 South Melrose
Vista, CA 92081

Chula Vista:
500 3rd Avenue
Chula Vista, CA 91910

Depending on which court your case will be heard in different procedures may apply so please make sure that you consult with attorney beforehand. Whether or not you hire a lawyer for you court case please make sure that if you attend court that you dress and act properly otherwise you could find yourself in more trouble. The following rules are enforced:

Shirt and shoes are required in the courtroom.
Tank tops and T-shirts are NOT allowed in the courtroom.
Food, drinks, and gum chewing are NOT allowed in the courtroom.
Weapons are NOT allowed in the courthouse.
Pagers and cell phones must be turned off.

Even with an out of state license you must request a DMV hearing within ten days.

If you do not request this hearing you will lose your privilege to drive in California.
