Michael Richmond - San Diego DUI Lawyer

Before attending Law School Mr. Richmond spent about 15 years in the United States Navy. His distinguished military career began when he attended and graduated from Basic Training here in San Diego. After about 4 years of service including several deployments overseas and having quickly achieved the rank of E-5 he was ordered by the The United States Navy to attend Oregon State University with the intention of returing to active duty as a Fully Commissioned Line Officer.

In 1989 Attorney Richmond graduated from O.S.U. with a Bachelor of Science Degree with coursework in calculus, physics, and associated technical courses required by the USN. Upon graduation he was immediately sworn in as a Line Officer in the United States Navy. Michael's innate ability to easily master difficult concepts under extreme pressure helped him during his Naval career to quickly rise to the decorated rank of Lieutenant Commander.

After having a child Mr. Richmond left the Navy to attend Law School here in San Diego at Thomas Jefferson School of Law so that he would be able to remain with his family. While in Law School he was a member of the Mock Trial Team and spent several years clerking for the Public Defender's Office where as a clerk he researched, prepared, filed, argued and won suppression motions, pitchess motions, 995 motions, and Jury Trials.

After being sworn in as a lawyer in California Mr. Richmond gained experience by assisting on murder cases, serious felonies, and, of course, DUI cases for several years before deciding to focus on defending DUI cases only.

Greg Cantor - Retired Law Enforcement

Mr. Cantor graduated from the San Diego Police Academy in 1951 and then served with the San Diego Police Department for 11 months, after which time began working for the La Mesa Police Department in 1973. He served in the Patrol Division for seven years, serving the last few years as a Field Training Officer. Three years were spent as a criminal investigator until being promoted to the rank of Corporal. Promotion to the rank of Sergeant occurred in 1986, serving in Patrol, Training and Traffic until retirement in 2000.

Among his primary responsibilities throughout his police career was the detection, apprehension and documentation of drunk drivers. Consequently, he personally arrested and supervised the arrest of hundreds, if not thousands, of drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He graduated from the 191 class of the FBI National Academy and also graduated from the P.O.S.T. Supervisor leadership Institute.

He supervised numerous DUI check points while working as the Traffic Supervisor for the La Mesa Police Department. Additionally, he was awarded DUI Officer of the Year by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers in 1999. Finally, it was his responsibility to read and evaluate DUI arrest reports generated by other officers to ensure accuracy and completeness, for the successful prosecution of violators at a later time.
