Driver's RegistryThe N.D.R. is a database containing information about drivers who have had their licenses suspended, or who have been convicted of DUI. This database is made available to all states in the U.S.The DMV, once the conviction "hits" your record, will forward your name to the N.D.R. Then when, or if, you apply for a driver's license in another state the Motor Vehicle Division in the new state will check to see if your name is on the NDR file. If you have been reported to the NDR as a problem driver, your license application will be denied. In addition, to all Motor Vehicle Departments other agencies, and or groups, are also authorized to receive information from the NDR: Any individual under the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. Federal driver's license officials. Current or prospective employers. Air carriers for pilot applicants. Federal Railroad Administration and employers of railroad engineers. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for medical certification of airmen. United States Coast Guard for merchant mariner certification. Federal Highway Administration for accident Investigations. Please note that the NDR uses the first four letters of your first and last names, your date of birth, and, sometimes, your social security number. Because of this there have been thousands of cases of mistaken identity. In addition there have been some cases where information from two or more drivers records was combined leading to negative actions taken against your driving record. For more information see: National Driver Register Even with an out of state license you must request a DMV hearing within ten days. If you do not request this hearing you will lose your privilege to drive in California. For more information contact our office today. Call 619 804 7223
